In the Computer Academy's Computer Restoration Program, volunteers at The Dignity Project repair computers to give to community members in need. Those who are in this program are both beginners and experienced in technology. They all are serving the community while earning a scholarship for education. The program is designed to bridge the “digital divide” here in our community.

The need for computers is great among people of all ages. Whether it is a 13-year-old boy who needs to type his school report or a middle-aged woman going back to school, there are people without computers who need them to be successful.

There is a strong link between knowledge of technology and the success rate of those in the business or academic world. The Dignity Project staff & volunteers recognize this need and strive to increase the number of families in Gainesville with computer access.
